The Archetype Chronicles

A Map of the Human Soul.

Before we had maps of the physical world, we had maps of the human soul. These are the archetypes—the timeless characters, stories, and symbols that reside deep within our collective unconscious. They are the constellations of our inner world: The Hero and The Sage, The Trickster and The Lover, The Creator and The Destroyer. This collection is a chronicle of my expeditions into that foundational territory.

This exploration takes two forms. In my mythological works, I navigate the grand, epic tales where these archetypes were first given a name and a story. In my portraits, the search is more intimate. I look for the echo of these same timeless characters in a human face—charting the wisdom of The Sage in the lines around an eye, or the resilience of The Hero in the set of a jaw. One is a map of the legend; the other is a map of the soul.

These paintings are not just depictions of gods and men. They are mirrors. I invite you to study these chronicles and recognize the faces of these eternal guides. They are the characters that make up our oldest stories, and they are the characters that live within us all.
