Collection: Spirit of Place

An Atlas of Atmosphere.

The ancient Romans called it Genus Loci. It is the belief that every place, whether a wild coastline, a silent forest, or a bustling city street, has a unique and protective spirit. It is an energy, an atmosphere, and a character all its own. As an artist-explorer, my primary work is to seek out and communicate with this spirit.

This exploration begins here, in the salt-tinged air of the Florida Keys, and extends to every new territory I chart. It is a process of deep listening—of observing how the light falls on a mountain peak, of understanding the history that echoes through ancient architecture, and of feeling the rhythm of a place in my bones. I am not merely painting a landscape; I am creating a portrait of its soul.

Each painting in this collection is an artifact from that communion. It is my attempt to capture the intangible—the quiet solitude of a mountain, the vibrant pulse of a city, the ancient wisdom of the sea. These are not just views of the world, but invitations to feel the distinct and powerful spirit that resides in each one.
